Since 1920 more than 2,050 men have had the honor of being a Kansas DU. Our home at 1025 Emery Road was our support system in Lawrence. It is where we worked and where we played. For many of us, it helped form who we are today. These relationships, experiences, and memories are the inspiration for this important project.
It is hard to believe it’s been more than 15 years since our first capital campaign and major renovation. Our state-of-the-art Chapter House has allowed Delta Upsilon to remain competitive with other KU fraternities. However, the past renovations are now outdated, and many interior finishes need refurbishing and furniture needs to be replaced. The time has come to update the Chapter House to meet the needs of current and future members. Our previous campaign responded to a critical need and today we are faced with a strategic need.
Our plans include the elimination of the $700,000 mortgage debt and implementation of a financial structure that will allow funds to be redirected into Chapter programming, as well as a $1.3 million renovation to increase the personal space and make our facility more conducive to the needs of today’s students.
